  1. Surely Sophie Coe did an excellent job on the True History of Chocolate. However I regret any mention of Indonesia and its exciting role in the history of chocolate. Scholars say the cocoa first arrived in the East Indies in the late 16th century. It was a significant crop in Batavia in the early 18th Century.Java was exporting beans to Europe in the late 18th century. It thrives in Indonesia today as the country is the third largest producer of cocoa beans.

  2. Hi Mervyn. You're right, Indonesia makes a good portion of the world's chocolate. According to The Jarkarta Globe, Indonesian chocolate could reach 1.9 billion in the year 2015. Thanks for stopping by. :)
